I'm burning Eucalyptus wood this evening in my air tight stove. It's only aromatic when you run the chainsaw through it or if you use the leaves in a pot of water on the wood stove. I grow many species of Eucs. on my property.

I was house sitting for one of my neighbours they use wood for primary heat. I couldn't take it baby sitting the wood stove and turned on the electric heat. Their electric bill was a little more expensive for the 2 months.

Never burned Eucalyptus before is it aramatic (smell) while its burning.

That's it, I have to watch my bakc because once in a while my lower back kills me. We only use wood heat here, although we have electric base boards in every room. Those we never turn on because they are way to costly. Wood heat feels much nicer. I burn Eucalyptus and Arbutus as well. I sawed up a bunch of Eucalyptus wood today.

All you don't want to do is put your back out or you will be screaming for the kids to pack dad back to the house LOL.

A lot of work cutting firewood if you use it for primary heat it does save you some money. Many people have gone to pellet stoves. Fir firewood is 180-200 dollars a cord Most people burn 2.5-3 cords a year.

I know it, and the next day my wood chopping friend said the exact same thing. Split around the edges of those big rounds and it goes so much easier. It sure does, wish I would have done it that way right from the start. I did manage to split all of that wood you see me chopping. Still have a couple more logs to saw and split. I was busy today.
